My Prayer for 2021

As we all stumble across the finish line of 2020 and look to the upcoming year to heal our wounds and soothe our souls, I want to share my prayer for 2021. For me. For you. For us.

I pray that as we move into a new year, we take with us from 2020 the lessons and knowledge we gained. I pray we use those lessons to move forward with determination and faith. I pray if we feel weak, we use the New Year as a point of invigoration to chase after our dreams with renewed fervor.

I pray we turn away from our screens and turn toward You. Turn towards our neighbors with love, acceptance, understanding and non-judgment. Let us band together to fight for our God given rights. Let us look towards You and each other to create the life we desire, away from the influence of media, celebrities and politicians.

I pray You soften our hearts this coming year. Let us see each other the way You see us, as flawed individuals who require unending forgiveness and grace. Let us not scoff at each other for the choices we make for ourselves and our families, but view them with acceptance of our differences.

I pray we are open to the signs You give us so we can follow the path You know is best for us. Let us find a way to be present in the monotony of day to day so we recognize your blessings and guidance.

Let me leave you with a few verses that have spoken to me as I reflect on 2020 and my hopes for 2021.

Great peace have those who love Your law; nothing shall make them stumble. Psalm 119:165

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away. Revelations 21:4

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgement. 2 Timothy 1:7

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

I wish you all a very blessed year, from my little family to yours.

I could post a picture perfect moment, but this is more accurate of my family dynamic.
